Mr. Allen Darrell Gillespie, age 90, of McMinnville, TN, died Monday, January 01, 2024, at Ascension St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born October 19, 1933, in Woodbury, TN, was a retired employee of Bridge Builders, Inc. for 50 years, and was preceded in death by parents Ralph and Barbara Markum Gillespie and sisters Shirley Cantrell and Connie Terry. He was a member of First Baptist Church, was a dedicated Christian and church was very important to Allen. He was an ordained deacon since 1980. Over the many years, he was a Sunday School teacher, a song leader, and anywhere he would go he would witness to others. Allen loved his family and always wanted them in church. He enjoyed fishing, football, and traveling.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years Marjorie Gillespie, daughters Janice (Kelvin) Gillespie and Vicki (Darrell) Harris, and sons Randy (Judy) Gillespie and Tim (Debbie) Gillespie, grandchildren Teri Morton, Trent Morton, Jeremy Harris, Heather (Robert) Anderson, Amber (Jamie) Group, Cameron Gillespie, Mandy Gillespie, Shae Gillespie, Melanie (Brad) Smith, and Lori Hale, 11 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a brother Gary (Linda) Gillespie.

Funeral services were conducted January 04, 2024, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Jeff Owens officiated. Interment followed at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
