Mrs. Beatrice H. Davenport age 96, formerly of McMinnville, TN, died Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Cape Canaveral Hospital in Florida. Funeral services were conducted August 18, 2021, at Gath Baptist Church. Ray Gilder officiated. Interment followed at Gath Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The family is also requesting for everyone to wear facial masks and practice social distancing regardless of vaccination status due to the spike of Covid-19 Delta Variant.
Beatrice was an owner and operator of One-Hour Martinizing Dry Cleaning in Athens, TN. She also worked at Graber's Department Store and Batesville Casket Company. She volunteered at River Park Hospital in the Rehab Department and with Meals-on-Wheels. Bea was a member of Gath Baptist Church, attended First Christian Church of Titusville for over 9 years, loved traveling, and playing Rummy Cube with her Senior Group. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Harrison and Flora Lucinda Kelly Hale, husband Harding C. Davenport, and brother Grady Hale.
Beatrice is survived by her daughter Linda Jones and her husband Jack of Titusville, her son Rev. Michael Cantrell and his wife Brenda of Milan, Indiana, 5 grandchildren Cyndi Vazquez, husband Mark, Robb Jones, wife Carrie, Tim Cantrell, wife Kathy, Shawn Cantrell, wife Lori, Kim Leja, husband Greg, 17 great-grandchildren Madison (Wyatt), Mason, Mallory, Malachi, Max, Brandon, Briana, Alexis, Matthew, Isabella, Lauren, Jonathan, Peyton, Nathan, Natalie, Jaymeson, and Aubrey, one great-great grandson Trevor, her sister Lucy Snyder of Alexandria, Tennessee, step children Dorothy Foster of Mesquite, TX and Faye Braxton of McMinnville, and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gath Cemetery Fund or to the Gideon's International Memorial Bible Program.
