Miss Bernita (Geri) Geraldine Akers, age 87, of McMinnville, TN, died Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at her residence. She was born February 02, 1936, in McMinnville, TN, was a retired bookkeeper, and was preceded in death by parents Lorenza Woodrow and Mary Tanner Akers, sister Brenda Gail Akers, sister-in-law Patsy Akers, and brothers-in-law Raymond Sain and Jesse R. Crumbley. She worshipped at both the Baptist and Cumberland Presbyterian churches.

Survivors include her sisters Collene Crumbley, Diann (Wayne) McMahan, and Pamela Akers and brothers John R. (Joyce) Akers and Don W. Akers. Several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.

Funeral services were conducted July 24, 2023, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Robbie Black officiated. Interment followed at Centertown Cemetery.
