Bobby Joe Koster, age 82, died Friday June 12, 2020 at his residence. He was born March 03, 1938 in McLoud, OK. He was retired as an engineer with the Metro Nashville Fire Department after 40 years of service, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force where he worked on aircraft, and delivered Meals on Wheels for over 12 years. He was lovingly known as "Gramps", landscaping and gardening brought him great joy, and he was a faithful member of Bethany Church of Christ. Mr. Koster was preceded in death by his parents Joe William and Vergie Lois Summers Koster, sister Clara (Floyd) Hughes, and nephews Eugene and Sam Hughes.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 45 years Peggy Simons Koster, step children David Underhill, McMinnville, TN, Dawn (Tom) Cole, and Dala Jernigan both of Murfreesboro, TN, grandchildren Lyndsay (Gifford) McIntyre, Danielle (Dustin) Cunningham, Lesley Jernigan, Denton Cole, Rachel Cole all of Murfreesboro, TN, and Luke Jernigan of Bradyville, TN, great grandchildren Liam McIntyre and Jack Cunningham, brother-in-law Wayne (Myrna) Simons of Mufreesboro, and special friends Andrew Dunn and Marinia Dunn.

Funeral services were conducted June 15, 2020. Bro. David Costello officiated. Interment followed at Bethany Cemetery.
