Mr. James Robert "Bobby" Love, age 66, of McMinnville, TN, died Monday, March 20, 2023. He was born July 16, 1956, in McMinnville, TN, was a 6 th generation farmer who raised hogs, cattle, crops, and nursery stock and was a member of First United Methodist Church. As a younger man, he was an Eagle Scout, a graduate of Warren County High School, proud member of Alpha Gamma Rho (AGR) Fraternity where he served as President of the Beta Theta Chapter of MTSU and he was currently serving as an Alumni Advisor for AGR, and was a graduate of MTSU with a degree in Animal Science and Education. He was a member of Future Farmers of America (FFA) and was State Star Farmer in 1976, and received recognition as the Young Farmer of the Year in the fall of 1986 from the McMinnville Jaycees.
Bobby was a member of the Caney Fork Electric Board since 1994, received the Distinguished Service Award Man of the Year in 1996 from the McMinnville Jaycees, and he was featured in Tennessee Home and Farm Magazine. The family farm has been located in Warren County since 1932 and Bobby was been a member of Farm Bureau for 40 years serving as President for 13 years. He was part of the Tennessee Farm Credit Nominating Committee, a member of the Middle Tennessee Nursery Association (MTNA), and a member of the Tennessee Nursery and Landscaping Association (TNLA).
Bobby is survived by his wife Tammy Love, son Wilson Love (Haile Adams), and daughter Shelby Love (Harrison Wood). He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Shelby and Peggy Jane Wilson Love. He loved to read, was a man who enjoyed playing pranks, and found great joy in talking with anyone and everyone.
Funeral services were conducted March 25, 2023, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ryan Heatherly officiated. Interment followed at DeKalb Memorial Gardens in Smithville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Farm Bureau's 'Ag in the Classroom' or to First United Methodist Church.
