Mrs. Bonnie Elkins Prater age 74 of McMinnville, TN, died Saturday, May 18, 2019, at her residence. She was born July 27, 1944, in Oak Ridge, TN, was a retired employee of Oster Corporation, and a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Prater was preceded in death by parents Walter Malcolm and Nancy Naomi Smith Barrett, first husband Lane Elkins, and a son Rickey Elkins.

Survivors include her husband Allen Prater, Jr., sons Barry (Kristol) Elkins and Brent Elkins (Gena Barry), daughter-in-law Beth Elkins, step-children Greg (Carolyne) Prater and Christy (Michael) Robey, sisters June Prater, Faye (Billy) Cunningham, and Louree (Sammy) Walker, and brother Leo (Teresa) Barrett. 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, 2 step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family members and friends also survive.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 21, 2019, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Greg Mitchell will officiate. Interment will follow at Center Hill Cemetery in Cannon County, TN. The Prater Family will receive friends Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
