Mrs. Carolyn Faye Bassett, age 77, of Manchester, TN passed away on March 23, 2026 at Ascension St. Thomas Riverpark Hospital. She was born on July 14, 1948 in McMinnville, TN. She was a retired employee from Carrier and MedRide. She was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church in Manchester, TN as well as a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Chapter Y. She had an unconditional love for her puppy dog. Carolyn had a big heart and wanted to make sure everyone's needs were met before her own. She cherished time spent with her family, most of all her daughter and granddaughters. She enjoyed going to lunch with her dear girlfriends and church ladies, always sharing an abundance of laughter. Carolyn had a personality that everyone loved to be around and her smile would light up a room. She was well-known and her legacy of love will continue to shine. Her husband lovingly referred to her as "doll".

Survivors include her "girls" Noell Brown, Laura-Lyn (Preston) Moore, and Jamie Karole (Brooks) Crutchfield, children Tony Bassett and Shelia Marie (Mitch), grandchildren Karmen (Ken) Buchanan and Reba Patterson, and her great grandchildren Hunter (Brooke), Lakelyn, Mattalyn, Braxton, Elijah, Christopher, Ronan, Acelyn, Isabella, Brooks, KJ, Kayden, Kenzlie, Caycen, Isbell, and Brycen. Special friends Brian and Nikki, Cathy Cagle, Marsha Jackson, Susan George, Terri Long, her church ladies and church family, and her beloved dog, Della also survive. She is preceded in death by her father George Carson Newby, mother Elizabeth Newby Chastain, her husband Andy Wade Bassett, and her daughter Carolee Boyd.

Funeral service for Mrs. Carolyn is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 26, 2026 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Forest Mill Cemetery in Manchester, TN. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service at 2:00 P.M.
