Obituary

Mrs. Cleo Jacobs age 96 of McMinnville, TN, died Sunday, July 11, 2021. She was born July 01, 1925 and grew up in Cannon County, TN. She was a charter member Bethel Hill Baptist Church, greatly enjoyed singing, loved her church and the people there were like her family, and was always drinking coffee and a favorite pastime while having her coffee was talking about the Bible. Cleo was a cook by trade and fed many people with the ARA Food Service company and cooking for folks at the stock barn in Woodbury. She spent much time creating items through her knitting, sewing, and quilting. Mrs. Jacobs was preceded in death by her parents Hardie Clark and Della Mae Smith Davenport, husband R.C. Jacobs, twin baby girls Karen and Cathy Jacobs, brothers William Palmer Davenport, Hardie Clark Davenport, Jr., Aubrey Davenport, and Paul Davenport who died in his youth, and son-in-law Carl Davis.

Survivors include her children Michael (Deanna) Jacobs, Sandra (Billy) Nunley, Danny Joe (Lisa) Jacobs, and Timothy (Cindy) Jacobs, 14 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.

Graveside services and interment were conducted July 15, 2021 at Centertown Cemetery. John Padgett, William Randolph, and Clyde Prater officiated. Family and friends met at the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bethel Hill Baptist Church in Cleo's memory.
