David G. Gaither, age 84, a former resident of McMinnville passed away at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky on Tuesday October 15, 2019. Mr. Gaither was born in Carruthersville, Missouri on November 23, 1934. He graduated from Carruthersville High School and Baptist Christian College in Shreveport, Louisiana, was of the Methodist faith, and served his country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Air Force. David moved to McMinnville in 2001. During the past several years, he moved to western Tennessee and transferred his business interests to both West Tennessee and West Kentucky and into Sugarland, Texas.

Mr. Gaither was preceded in death by his parents Edward Everette and Alice Greene Autry Gaither, brother Edward Everette Gaither, and sisters Sadie Lee Hensley and Helen Louise Watson. He is survived by two children Kathy Gaither (Jim) Campbell and David W. (Buffy) Gaither, the mother of his children Pat Gaither, four grandsons Kristopher Wayne (Robyn) Pennywell, Coy Robert Gaither, Harlyi David Turner, and Logan Warren Gaither, and five great-grandchildren Skylar Cook, Ella Pennywell, Kolton Pennywell, Mackenzie Pennywell, and Oliver David Turner.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at the family farm on Nashville Hwy. Dr. John Purdue will officiate. The Gaither Family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
