Mr. David Earnest Sneed age 70 of McMinnville, TN, died Friday, September 20, 2019, at his residence. He was born September 30, 1948, in Rutherford County, TN, but is a lifelong native of Warren County. David served in the U.S. Army with the 101 st Airborne and was a Vietnam Veteran. A member of New Short Mountain United Methodist Church, he was a farmer, a member of Tennessee Cattlemen's Association, Cannon County Cattlemen's Association, Tennessee Farm Bureau, Board member of the Warren County Farm Bureau, past Warren County School Board member, Committee President of Blues Hill Cemetery, a past member of VFW Post 5064, and a Mason. Mr. Sneed retired as the safety director with the Warren County School System and his working career also included Carrier, General Equipment, Bill Boruff Automotive, AO Smith, and DS Farm Supply.
David was preceded in death by his parents Edward Carmack and Bertha Melton Sneed and brother Freddie Sneed. He is survived by his wife of 42 ½ years Dianne Sneed, sons Davy (Wendy) Sneed and Dale Sneed, all of McMinnville, sister Sandra Kay (Bill) Brauch of Donalson, TN, granddaughter Riley Elizabeth Sneed, niece Lucinda Brauch, and nephews Todd Brauch, Chris Sneed, and Brandon Sneed.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 24, 2019, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Ben Day, Jeran Tenpenny, and Myron Greer will officiate. Interment will follow at Blues Hill Cemetery. Military Grave Rites will be administered by V.F.W. Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. The Sneed Family will receive friends Monday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Tuesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Caring Hearts United or to the Gideon Bible Program.
