Mrs. Dorothy Dean Smith age 84 of McMinnville, TN, died Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Park View Meadows in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born May 18, 1935, in Hermitage, TN, was a homemaker and member of Blue Wing Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents Floyd Ritchey and Pauline Ritchey Dodson, husband Willie Taylor Smith, and brothers Norvel Ritchey and Charles Ritchey.

Survivors include her children Dwight Douglas Smith, Deborah Lorraine (Jimmy) Christman, Darl W. (Renee) Smith, Danny L. (Diane) Smith, and Mark D. Smith, grandchildren Alicia Harper, Amy Johnson, Adam Smith, Matthew Smith, Jessica Jones, Jacob Smith, Daniel Smith, and Damon Smith, and 20 great grandchildren. Many family friends also survive.

Funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Adam Smith and Dr. Jim Christman will officiate. Interment will follow at Blues Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
