Mr. Douglas Wayne "Doug" Davenport, age 72, of Smithville, TN, died Monday, August 28, 2023. He was born June 13, 1951, in McMinnville, Tennessee, was a retired self-employed nurseryman and a man of many trades, was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and all things outdoors and wildlife. He was preceded in death by his parents John Lloyd and Betty Joyce Holt Davenport, daughter Amy Stanley, grandson Jaythan Johnson, sisters Donna Eldridge, Trish Richardson, and Phyllis Davenport, brother Randy Davenport, and brother-in-law James Judkins.

Survivors include his daughters Christy (Joseph) Arnold and Jennifer Johnson, sisters Shirley (Darrell) Johnson, Carolyn Judkins, Linda (Gary) Cooper, and Kim Vaden, brothers Tommy (Sherri) Davenport, Kenneth Davenport, and Jason Judkins, grandchildren Yasmin Arnold, Lealon Arnold, Bryson Johnson, Jasmine (Ryan) Kilgore, Jaira Johnson, and Jase McAlister, and great granddaughter Olivia Kilgore. Many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family members also survive.

Funeral services were conducted August 31, 2023 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Joseph Arnold and Elder Ricky Arnold officiated. Interment followed at Providence Cemetery.
