Mr. Douglas Marcel Ellis, age 71, of McMinnville, TN passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Ascension St. Thomas River Park Hospital. He was born on June 08, 1955 in Elkhart, IN and worked as a woodworker making furniture. He built his life on Jesus and his love for the Lord was evident in everything he did. He attended Campaign Church of God with his faithful wife and drove the bus as a small way to give back to the church. Douglas found peace in listening to Christian music, sending out daily Bible devotions, and being outdoors in God’s beautiful creation. He was known to many as the “selfie king” never turning down the opportunity to be in a picture. He adored his wife and had a special place in his heart for his grand girls.

He is survived by his wife Paulette Tittle Ellis, children Karri Redmore, Louis Null, III, Jarrod Null, Bret (Heather) Null, Crystal Klaer, and Keesha Mills, grandchildren Chelsey (Colby) Bouldin, Shelbey (Robert) Yates, Kaitlyn (Kent) Winfree, Cheyenne Null, Elijah Null, Jeremiah Null, Alissa Shelton, Kyle Null, Dylan Shelton, Dustin (Allison) Hamilton, Kendra (Jason) Siemens, Krista (Cody) Kistler, Dallas Ellis, Deven Ellis, Kennedy Null, Madison Null, Taylor Hairell, Joshua Hairell, Keegan Phillips, Rachel Phillips, and Bryer Phillips, a multitude of great grandchildren, special daughter-in-law Susan Ellis, and brother Michael John Ellis. He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Jay Ellis and Phyllis Jean Earick Ellis, son Corey Douglas Ellis, and brother Robert Jay Ellis, Jr.

Funeral services for Douglas are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 19, 2026 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Jeremy Ellis will officiate. Interment will follow at McElroy Cemetery in Van Buren County. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of McMinnville Funeral Home.
