Mr. Duane George Gebert age 91 of McMinnville, TN, died Thursday, June 10, 2021, at McArthur Manor Nursing Center in Manchester, TN. He was born July 22, 1929, in Medford, WI, was a Catholic, and arrived in McMinnville in the late 1950's when the local Oster Manufacturing facility opened and continued many years as a foreman. He was well respected as a boss and as a mentor. In the late 1960's, he moved to East Tennessee and began work at Eaton, Yale, and Towne, later named Yale Securities where he worked until retirement. Later, he moved back to McMinnville to be with his beloved Nancy and his hobbies included growing nursery, home renovation, planting flowers, cutting wood, the Braves, and driving his dog Jobie around the property on the golf cart. Even after losing most of his eyesight in his late 60's, he never complained and remained an avid reader using audio books. Mr. Gebert was preceded in death by parents George and Elsie Helen Marie Beilfuss Gebert, Jr., siblings Elaine Zenner, Marvin Gebert, Elsia Gebert, and Arlyn Gebert, sister-in-law Shirley Gebert, and brothers-in-law Clifford Zenner, Gerald Ludwig, and Robert Spanbauer.

Survivors include his long-time companion Nancy Bryant, his children Lynda Lee (Ronald) Lynn, Heidi Jo (David) Lewis, and Timothy Duane (Ande) Gebert, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and siblings Clarice Ludwig, Merlin Gebert, and Ardis Spanbauer. Many nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.

Per his request, Mr. Gebert was cremated. No immediate services are planned at this time.
