Mr. Fred Harlan "Freddie" Battles age 82 of Morrison, TN, died Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Ascension Saint Thomas River Park Hospital in McMinnville, TN. He was born April 21, 1941, in Manchester, TN, retired from serving in the U.S. Army, retired from Century Electric / Magnetek, and served in the National Guard. Freddie greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening, and was a member of the Hiawassee Church of Christ.

Survivors include his brothers Larry Dale Battles, Calvin (Felicia) Wright, Michael Wright, Sr., and Derek Wright, along with several nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends. Mr. Battles was preceded in death by his father Arthur Brown, mother Hattie Elizabeth Wright, sisters Rachel Battles and Gloria Jean Brown-Whitaker, and brothers Rayfield Wright and William Louis "Turkey" Battles.

Funeral services were conducted January 05, 2024, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Marty Gribble officiated. Interment followed at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Military Grave Rites were bestowed by V.F.W. Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
