Mr. George William Jones age 85 of McMinnville, TN, died Sunday, January 05, 2020, at his residence. He was born May 05, 1934, in Smithville, TN, was a retired auto parts salesman with C & W Armature, and a member of Newtown The Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Jones was preceded in death by parents Frank Russell Jones and Mary Lou Adcock Jones, sons Harry Benton Jones and Jerry Dewayne Jones, great-grandchild Jennalynn Jones, two infant sisters, brothers Everette Jones, J. B. Jones, Major A. Jones, and Edd Lee Jones, and sisters Alice Smith, Louise Harrell, and Bessie Mae Duggin.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years Dorothy Hale Jones, son and daughter-in-law Larry and Tina Jones, grandchildren Micah Nunley and wife Bethany, Alex Pack, Annie Jones, Hunter Jones, Erica Jones, Elliott Kelly and wife Ashlyn, and great grandchildren Nadia Nunley, Boston Guy, and Jera Shae Jones. Several nieces, nephews, and family friends also survive.

Funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 09, 2020 in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Elder David Frazier and Elder Martin Bell will officiate. Interment will follow at Mtn. View Cemetery. The Jones family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday and again from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday.
