Mr. George C. McCarver age 72 of Rock Island, TN, died Saturday, February 20, 2021, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born April 24, 1948, in Dunlap, TN, worked as a welder, truck driver, and fabricator and was preceded in death by his parents Jesse Eugene and Georgia Villa Camp McCarver and a brother Jesse Harold McCarver. George served his country with the U. S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America, and was an avid fisherman.

Survivors include his wife Deanna McCarver, step-son Michael Ridenour, sisters Ethelene Underhill, Carolyn Powers, and Kathy (Carl) Morgan, a brother Marshall (Cathy) McCarver, and special nephew Carson (Teresa) Rust. Several nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive.

Graveside services and interment were conducted at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at Mt. View Cemetery. Military grave rites were administered by the Bobby Ray Detachment of the Marine Corps League # 1377. Bro. Carson Rust officiated.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity. Please, no food at the funeral home. Social distancing and the wearing of facial masks are strongly encouraged.
