Mr. James Carl "Jimmy" Haston, age 90, of Rockwall, Texas, previously of Rock Island, TN, passed from this life on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at his home. He was born December 20, 1932, in Viola, TN, was a member of the New Union Church at Hwy 30, a retired truck driver for Sears, a man who enjoyed the outdoors, and served his country in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by parents Sam and Cleo Young Haston, son Mark Haston, and sister Sammye Habern.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Kathryn Grissom Haston, daughter-in-law Carole Haston, grandchildren Ashley (Kevin) Scott, Robert (Christy) Haston, and Anthony (Elizabeth) Haston, eight great-grandchildren, and several other family members and family friends.

Funeral services were conducted October 21, 2023, at New Union Church at Hwy 30 in Rock Island, TN. Paul Roberts and David Grissom officiated. Interment followed at New Union Cemetery with full military honors by V.F.W. Post 5064 and the American Legion Post 173.
