Obituary

Mrs. Jimmie Rose Johnson, age 83, of McMinnville, died Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at St. Thomas River Park Hospital. She was born May 03, 1936, in Walling, TN, worked as a sewing machine operator with Genesco, owned and operated A.J.'s Daycare for 20 years, and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and taught a Christian Bible Study Class. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents Sam Lee and Hassie Bell Young Hooper, husband Charles W. Johnson, daughter Sherry Anita Johnson, and brothers Aaron Hooper and Howard Hooper.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law Bonnie Sue and Roger Steven Southard, granddaughters Amber (David) Key and Tiffiny (Patrick) Hathcock, great grandchildren Avery Buck, Whitley Key, Wesley (Amber) Key, Jacquelyn Key, and Julianna Key, great-great grandchildren Delanie-Grace Neal, Oakley Neal, and Andelyn Rose Walker, and special niece and nephew Shena George and Mark Fults. Several great nephews, nieces and family friends also survive.

Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 01, 2019, at the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bill Eversole will officiate. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Friday from 8:00 A.M. until the time of service at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
