Mrs. Joan Hillis age 87 of McMinnville, TN, died Thursday August 27, 2020 at NHC HealthCare in McMinnville, TN. Born on July 07, 1933, in Broughton, Illinois, she was a retired case worker with the Department of Public Aid in Illinois and was a member of the church of Christ. The happiest moments in Joan's life were those spent with her grandchildren and reconnection with family members after she and Landy moved back to McMinnville upon retirement from their jobs in Illinois 25 years ago.

Mrs. Hillis was preceded in death by her parents Otha and Opal Campbell Steele and her husband Landy E. Hillis. She is survived by her sons Michael L. (Leslie) Hillis and Steven J. Hillis, sister Emma Cathey, brother William Steele, grandchildren Jessica (Derek) Wattenbarger, Abby Hillis, Jonathan Hillis, Stephanie (Lewis) Mallory, and Ryan (Stephanie) Hillis, six great grandchildren, and several other family members and family friends.

Graveside services and interment were conducted August 31, 2020 at Mt. View Cemetery. Garland Robinson officiated.
