Mr. Joe Wright age 78 of McMinnville, TN, died Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Ascension St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville, TN. He was born January 08, 1944, in Smithville, TN, was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, and was of the Baptist faith. He retired from teaching at Eastside Elementary after 30 years in the Warren County School System, and retired from Kroger after 32 years of employment. Joe was an avid fan of all "Vandy" sports, liked watching the Preds, and enjoyed putting together picture albums.

Joe is survived by his wife of 50 years Patricia Ray Wright, son and daughter-in-law Seth and Ashley Wright, brothers Mark (Hilda) Wright and Bobby (Marie) Wright, and brother-in-law Delbert (Linda) Ray along with several nieces and nephews. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by parents Johnnie and Delma Blankenship Wright, siblings Buel Wright and Arleath (Gwin) Childers, father-in-law and mother-in-law J.T. and Clistie Marsh Ray, and brother-in-law Jerry (Brenda) Ray.

Funeral services were conducted February 21, 2022, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Jim Hunt officiated. Interment followed at Mt. View Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels. Former students and teachers he worked with are asked to serve as honorary pallbearers.
