Mrs. Betty "Joy" Slatton, age 79, of McMinnville, TN died Sunday, April 11, 2021 at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was born May 23, 1941 in Warren County, TN.  She served as the Warren County Trustee for 28 years and was a member of the Church of Christ at Hebron. Joy loved her dog Molly, family, church family, and taking care of others.  She had a sense of humor that brought about lots of laughter to those around her and she never met a stranger.  She was preceded in death by her parents L. H. "Bud" and Irene Milstead Barnes, infant sister Susan Barnes, sister Kathy Barnes Hobbs, daughter René Brown, husband Billy Joe Slatton.  Joy is survived by her daughter Shelia G. Lentz of Murfreesboro, son Stephen (Kristi) Slatton of Murfreesboro, daughter Kim (Derek) Baker of Georgetown, KY, grandchildren Bryan (Jessica) Duncan, Brooke (Greg) Mast, Kerri (Kyle) Wilson, Tessa (Vincent) Kithome, Hailey (Taylor) Hennigan, Bailey (Caleb) Underhill, Sarah Baker, Nathaniel Baker, Aaron Baker, twelve great grandchildren, brother Stanley (Nadean) Barnes, sister Janice (Joe) Spiva, and nephew Matthew Hobbs.

Funeral services were conducted April 15, 2021. Bro. Chris Perry and Bro. Wayne Cantrell officiated. Interment followed at Hebron Cemetery.  Social distancing and the wearing of face masks were highly encouraged. No food at the funeral home please.
