Mrs. Marie Christena Laxton, age 93, of Dowelltown, TN, died Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital in Smithville, TN. She was born July 07, 1930, in Oneida, TN, was a homemaker, and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. Mrs. Laxton was preceded in death by parents Walter Cordell and Carrie Leona Hale Watters, husband Lothery Laxton, and brothers Walter Cordell Watters, Jr., Jennings Watters, Mearl Watters, and Carlos Watters.

Survivors include her children Gary (Roxane) Laxton, Charles (Junghee) Laxton, Carrie (Paul) Darata, and Lonnie (Denise) Laxton, sisters Freda McDonald and Janie King, 16 grandchildren Logan, Morgan, Laura, Camille, Stephanie, Amber, Wendy, Sarah, Holly, Joseph, Gina, Claire Leona, Jennifer, Katherine, Amanda, and Steven, and 23 great grandchildren.

The Laxton family received friends February 04, 2024, at McMinnville Funeral Home. Graveside service and interment followed at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
