Michael "Mike" Alan Gann was an early Birthday present for his mother born in Lebanon, TN on April 24, 1968. He was the second oldest child born to the late Wilburn Winter Gann and Wilma Ruth (Hudson) Gann Johnson. Living to serve others in his walk for Christ, he was taken home to be with God from this life on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at the age of 55 years in Alexandria, TN where he resided. Mike trusted in God to sustain him and give him strength to face each day with happiness despite his diagnosis of CJD/FFI in 1997. He was a member at Gassaway Church of Christ, preached twice a month at Sugar Tree Knob Church of Christ, and treasured working for 30 years at Stones River Manor in Murfreesboro with all the many residents that lived there during that time. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Tony Gann and Steven Gann and his Uncle Larry Hudson.

He is survived by his best friend and loving wife Sheila Dickson Gann of 27 ½ years; sister, Lisa (Russell) Lane; aunt, Patty Hudson; sisters-in-laws, Cindy (James) Jenkins, Jeanne Dickson, Alice (Ronnie) Parker, and Diane (Gann) Redditt; nieces and nephews, Justin (Candice) Parker, Heather Gann, Joshua Lane, Billy (Maisie) Parker, and Katlyn Gann; great-nieces and great nephew, Kaylynne Parker, Benton Rigsby, and Brynlee Parker; nieces and nephews of Mike's Heart, Rebecca (Robertson) LeFevre, William Robertson, James Robertson, Noah Robertson, Bailey Witty, Malia (Witty) Neel, Zoe Witty, Garrison Holmes, Emma (Holmes) Donoho, Lou Christian, Carson Lester, and Kelsey (Lester) Berry; Special Friends, Lois Bush (who was like a mother to Mike), Bobbie Young, and Marlene Prichard; and the Gassaway Church, Sugar Tree Knob Church, and Stones River Manor Family.

Mike was known as the "Carrot Cake Man" having made over 2,000 cakes, many given in exchange as a thank you for making a donation to the Alzheimer's Association. He actively raised money for the Alzheimer's Association for 25 years being one of Tennessee's top individual fundraisers, a cause dear to his heart as dementia was so closely related to his own disease. Mike's favorite song was "Don't Worry, Be Happy!" and he wanted to find a cure so that future generations wouldn't have to worry about their loved ones facing the loss of those happy memories that are unfortunately lost with this disease. Mike's family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations can be made in his honor to the Murfreesboro Alzheimer's Association, Gassaway Church of Christ, the Stones River Manor Benevolence Fund, Sugar Tree Knob Church of Christ, Gentiva Hospice in McMinnville whose Nurse Bobbie Sue provided wonderful care for him, Dibrell Elementary PTO Cats for a Cure Relay for Life Team, CJDFoundation.org, or your favorite charity.

Funeral services were conducted December 09, 2023, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Bill Robertson, Gary Hancock, Brian Witty, Johnny Trail, Sheila Gann, and Weldon Parkinson officiated. Interment followed at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
