Mr. Neal Wayne O'Neal, age 78, of Spencer, TN, died Friday, July 08, 2022, at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga, TN. He was born December 09, 1943, in Cumberland County, TN, was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and was preceded in death by his parents Robert Shelton and Geneva Ellen Black O'Neal, his wife of 50 years Mary Virginia Brymer O'Neal, and brothers Randy Delano O'Neal, James Flynn O'Neal, and Robert Glenn O'Neal. Mr. O'Neal was a tenured educator who retired as Superintendent of Schools with the Van Buren County School System.

Survivors include sisters Sue Sharbano, Wanda (Bob) Martin, and Kathy Jordan and brothers William Keith O'Neal and Hugh (Teresia) O'Neal. His wife Mary's family including Jay Brymer, Charles Brymer, and Kristen, Megan, and Phillip Brymer. Several nieces, nephews, family members, students, and many friends also survive.

Graveside memorial service and inurnment were conducted July 15, 2022, at Cummingsville Cemetery in Van Buren County, TN. Bro. James Dukes officiated. Military grave rites were conducted by American Legion Post 173 and V.F.W. Post 5064.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mary O'Neal Scholarship Fund at Van Buren County High School, 293 Sparta Street, Spencer, TN 38585.
