Roger Dennis Burks, age 79, of Morrison, TN died October 29, 2023, at Willow Branch Health & Rehab. He was born February 29, 1944, in McMinnville, TN, was retired as a maintenance employee with Rich's Food Products, had worked as a barber in his earlier years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Roger was a faithful member of Caney Branch The Baptist Church where he served many years as a Sunday School Teacher, was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, camping, and hummingbirds, and was known to be a part of a local "Liar's Corner" with many acquaintances. He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie Dalton and Thema Mae Dennis Burks, brother Wendell Gordon Burks, and his very close uncle Coy Dennis.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years Peggye Jo Lance Burks, children Cameron Heath (Michele) Burks and Andrena (James) Carter, sisters Shirley (Ken) Franklin and Vicki (Hubert) King, grandchildren Alexandria Carter, Caden Carter, Cethley Burks, Sydney (Steve) McComis, and Alex Pullon, one great grandchild on the way, and numerous nieces and nephews who were special to him.

Funeral services were conducted November 03, 2023, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Chris Anderson and Bro. Leonard Herman officiated. Interment followed at Caney Branch Cemetery. Military grave rites were conducted by American Legion Post 173 and V.F.W. Post 5064.
