Mr. Sterling Eugene "Gene" Rains age 81 of Morrison, TN, died Sunday, November 24, 2019, at his residence. He was born December 07, 1937, in Warren County, TN, was a veteran of the United States Air Force, a shop instructor and teacher with the Tennessee Technology Center, and a member of the Church of Christ at Trousdale where he served as a deacon. Mr. Rains was preceded in death by his parents Sterling and Elizabeth Mordis Rains, wife Della Mozella Haynes Rains, and brothers Robert Ellis Rains and James Patrick Rains.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law Gregory Eugene and Carol Rains, granddaughters Sarah Rains and Grace Rains Miller and her husband Cameron, and special friend Betty Owen. Other family members and friends also survive.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 27, 2019, at the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Greg Rains and Bro. Wayne Cantrell will officiate. Interment will follow at Trousdale Cemetery. Military Grave Rites will be administered by V.F.W. Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. The Rains family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
