Mr. Thomas A. Tanner, Sr. born April 21, 1934 and passed November 29, 2019 at the age of 85. He was a devoted husband and father, loved his Sunday school class at First Baptist Church, served his country in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War, owner of Tanner Communications - a telephone line construction company, and partner of Tanner Farms. He was the husband of the late Mary Elizabeth Tanner and they were married for 53 years. Mr. Tanner was also preceded in death by parents Harvey and Mary Lee Tanner, son Michael Tanner, sister Nancy Feild, brother-in-law Mason Tanner, and sister-in-law Evelyn Tanner.

Survivors include his daughters Leisa (Tommy) Crawford and Angie (Ricky) Bost, son Tom Tanner Jr. (Dena), daughter-in-law Janice Tanner, grandchildren Seth Crawford of Tokyo, Japan, Blake (Tonya) Crawford, Justin (Keri) Crawford, Shana Tanner, Cotey (Blane) Tanner, Whitney (Kyle) Grissom, Karrington (Peyton) Blackwell, Jessica Bost, Ashley Bost, Coty (Kristin) Bost, Kaitom (Brock) Matthews, Drew (Whitley) Tanner, and Miranda (James) Barkvey, 23 great grandchildren, sisters Patty (Ben) Foreman of Savannah, GA and Betty Sue Evans of Clarksville, TN, and brother-in-law James Rodney Feild of Memphis, TN. Numerous nieces, nephews, and special friend Gracie Cannon also survive.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 P.M. Monday, December 02, 2019, in the McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Bo Hendrix and Bro. Sammy Lee will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery and Bro. Kyle Grissom will officiate at the cemetery. Military Grave Rites will be conducted by V.F.W. Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. The family will receive friends Sunday from 12 P.M. Noon until 8 P.M. and again Monday from 11:00 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. at the parlors of McMinnville Funeral Home.
