Mr. William “Bill” Elwin Forbes, age 86, of McMinnville, TN passed away on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Generations Center of Spencer. He was born on April 30, 1940 in Oakwood, OK to parents William Carlton Forbes and Iris Pearl Felkner Forbes. He was of the Baptist faith and was a retired custodian. He was a man of God who found peace and comfort in reading his Bible. Bill had a humorous yet simple personality and enjoyed the little things in life. He was frugal in many ways and in his earlier days, he was active at the Senior Center.

He is survived by his children William (Jennifer) Forbes, Kimberly Suzanne (Dale) Howell, and Dorothy (Terry) Forbes Couch, a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, and sisters Susan Ann Forbes, Lavern Patrice McGaulgh, and Lillian Louise Gibson. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Bobby Earl Forbes, and sister Carlene Forbes.

Bill Forbes will be cremated and no memorial services are planned at this time.
